Hi Amy. Thanks for responding to my post sometime ago. After debating about starting a blog for a long time, I decided to take the plunge and started a “blog lite” on tumblr recently. I’ve been learning more about Inbound Marketing (through Hubspot) and in fact heard Mack speak about blogging there. I will be blogging about marketing and social media as well as a few other topics. So far, I’ve just posted quotes, etc. but I am ennoying this!

Hey Mufaddal! You are right, in the year or so since I wrote this post, Kodak has shifted the focus of A Thousand Words a bit. I believe the tagline used to be ‘A Blog About Photography’, but as you noticed, the posts for the past few months have been less about how to take better pictures, and more about Kodak products. Which I think is a mistake, I think it’s more effective to teach us how to take better pictures, and in the process that valuable content helps promote Kodak.

I haven’t the whole article yet, however what you said abt the Kodak blog “they dont advertise their products on the blog instead they provide information regarding better photography etc.” which i do not agree with.. I saw the blog, its full of Kodak Products and specifications… I do not blame you at all..

Colleen everyone struggles with ‘Blogger’s Block’ from time to time. This is another reason why interacting with your readers and getting feedback from them can help you. They will tell you which topics and ideas they want to hear more about, if you can listen to what they are saying

Hi Colleen – I TOTALLY understand how you feel. I think it helps a lot to plan what you’re going to write about — I see a lot of people who struggle with the concept but once they put six months of ideas on paper, they think “I can do this!” Of course, then the hard part is taking the concepts and actually writing the posts — but that’s a whole different post from Mack. Thanks for writing.

Hello Amy. I’m just starting to consider writing a blog and am concerned about having ideas of value to write about on a continuing basis. It is great to know that even someone who has been doing it so well for so long struggles too. Great post!
