Here in the UK instead of “Bless his heart” it’s “Bless his little cotton socks”. Don’t know why the socks are cotton as opposed to, say, a nylon blend.

Right, because the ‘bless his heart’ means it’s not personal, right? And another is that ‘kiss my ass!’ is a great all-purpose response to any insult.

But only in the South, apparently.
